Societal Partnership

Since its opening in 2010, Qatar Autism Center and Special Needs has worked in partnership with Qatari society through:

  • Holding lectures and awareness seminars, and distributing booklets on how to interact with people with disabilities and the importance of early intervention in a child’s life.
  • Giving advice and guidance to parents through audio, visual and social media.
  • Sharing experience with schools of all kinds (government and private) on designing suitable programs and applying them for students receiving educational support.
  • Partnership with Best Buddies to improve the lives of people with disabilities and reduce social isolation, through programs the center takes part in, such as yoga and events held for people with disabilities.
  • Partnership with Green Apple Nursery for social integration and rehabilitation of children, given the importance of early intervention in developing a child’s language and social skills.
  • Cooperation with Sidra Medicine (Qatar Foundation), providing suitable rehabilitation services for children diagnosed by its qualified medical team.
  • Training school students and volunteer hours, helping children with disabilities in the center’s activities (Jassim Bin Hamad Secondary School for Boys).
  • Taking part in annual gatherings and exhibitions that show the artwork of the center’s students (Al Wakra Secondary School for Boys, Abdulrahman Bin Jassim Secondary School for Boys, Al Shaimaa Preparatory-Secondary School for Girls).
  • A cooperation project with schools in Qatar, including Leaders International Schools. The center has been the first to apply inclusion in private schools since 2012: a child’s progress does not stop at the center, and children can join school classes and obtain accredited school certificates.
